We’ve had enough
of annually rising living costs, overpriced commercial spaces, and the loss of free spaces.
We’ve had enough
of ever-growing lines of people at viewings and the fact that more and more people are losing their homes and their social environment.
We’ve had enough
of those who blame the problem on migration or who want to leave the solution to real estate companies. We don’t want our rent to generate enormous profits and for the city to be built solely according to the interests of the wealthy.
This is why we demonstrate:
Housing for everyone!
Neither income nor wealth should determine who lives where. We want open cities where people of all ages can find affordable housing, where regardless of residence status, wallet size, skin color, surname, age, network, and type of household, everyone can find their place.
No profit from land and rent!
Housing is not a commodity! It is – just like electricity, water, and air – our basic necessity for existence. The more acute the financial crisis, the more money flows into the real estate market. Huge profits are made from the sale of land and the “development” of real estate. These investments are meant to yield profits, and we pay, pay, pay. This has to stop if we want cities worth living in!
Self-determined urban development!
Urban development does not mean “location marketing” and “promoting economic developement” to attract global corporations. Profit-driven urban development promotes inequality and accelerates the destruction of our planet. That’s not our city. We all make the city. We want to collectively decide how we live in it.
For these reasons, we demonstrate in solidarity with everyone whose living space is threatened or who have already been displaced. Another city is possible!
Everyone to the streets!
